The NAMM show in Anaheim, CA was awesome! I got to see and try a ton of awesome drum gear. I also met a bunch of cool people from all around as well as some of my drumming inspirations. Here are some pictures from this years show.
Thank you to all of the students who performed yesterday at the Lancaster Drummer “Drum Jam” and the families and friends that came out to support their loved ones in their musical journey. We had a wonderful turn out of about 100 people! For many of the students yesterday was their first time ever performing and they did fantastic. The veteran performers killed it of course and put on a great show. I hope to see you all at the next Drum Jam in the spring of 2019
You’re never too old to start drumming!
Happy 71st Birthday Dan Wagner!
Hello everyone, this is Dan Wagner a student of mine the past 7 years. Dan and I met when he would bring his granddaughter Kayleigh to drum lessons. One day Dan asked me what the age of my oldest student was and at the time I believe they were in their late 40’s or 50’s. Dan said he was 64 and that drumming had been on his "bucket list". Shortly after our talk Dan decided to take the plunge and start hisdrumming journey. The past 7 years with Dan have been awesome. Dan has gone from not knowing how to play anything to performing in my annual recitals. Dans favorite styles of drumming are funk and Motown drumming, he also enjoys current artist such as Bruno Mars. Due to a knee surgery Dan will be sitting out the upcoming Drum Jam, but we wish him a speedy recovery so he can get back behind the kit.

My student Xavier (left) brought his friend Drew (right) along to his lesson today. The last five minutes of lessons I asked Xavier to teach Drew how to play a groove. Xavier did a great job instructing his friend and breaking down the parts of the groove in a crash course lesson. When the five minutes was up Drew was starting to be able to hold together a 8th note rock groove with kick on 1 and 3.
My wife Jenn Lech surprised me with this custom made laser cut shiplap sign. I'm in awe, it's so awesome!
Happy 9th birthday to my student Alex! 1 more year till you hit those double digits:) Enjoy your day buddy!
Tim and I started lessons together when he was in 6th grade. During that time Tim and I have covered a lot of ground and he has developed a nice feel to his groove. When Tim started lessons I was several inches taller than he was. Now that Tim is 18 and about to graduate High School he towers over me lol. Tim is a great dude and I wish him the best of luck in college. Tim and I will complete our lessons in May and then he'll spend the summer enjoying some free time and traveling before heading to Penn Tech
