Happy 9th birthday to my student Alex! 1 more year till you hit those double digits:) Enjoy your day buddy!
Tim and I started lessons together when he was in 6th grade. During that time Tim and I have covered a lot of ground and he has developed a nice feel to his groove. When Tim started lessons I was several inches taller than he was. Now that Tim is 18 and about to graduate High School he towers over me lol. Tim is a great dude and I wish him the best of luck in college. Tim and I will complete our lessons in May and then he'll spend the summer enjoying some free time and traveling before heading to Penn Tech

Hello everyone, this is 9 year old Wyatt! Wish him luck as he will have his debut performance behind the kit this week playing a drum solo at his school talent show. Wyatt has worked very hard on his solo, and I'm super proud of him for all of his hard work and enthusiasm to perform. Besides drumming, Wyatt is a huge sports fan. He plays football and wrestles for manheim central district. Show some ❤️ for Wyatt! #LancasterDrummer
This weeks Student SPOTLIGHT goes out to Ethan Witwer! Ethan is a very hard working and enthusiastic young drummer. Ethan has been taking lessons with me for a few years now and working with Ethan every week and seeing his musical growth is awesome. I look forward to seeing where Ethans musical journey goes in the future. Ethan currently plays the quads in his High School marching band and is going to be preparing for his high school jazz band auditions.
Max Cummings, a long time student of mine is celebrating his 16th birthday today! Happy Birthday Max and congratulations on getting your learners permit! Watch out everyone Max is gonna be hitting the streets! Max you're an awesome dude! Happy Birthday again man!
Hello everyone! Here is an awesome open solo performed by my long time student Adrian Hain. Adrian has been taking lessons with me for the past 6 years and just recently graduated from Hempfield High School. Adrian is an awesome student and and all around great guy. I've really enjoyed watching Adrian develop his own style of playing and creating over the years. Its not an easy thing to get up in front of a crowd, jump behind a kit and perform. I commend Adrian on all of his hard work through the years and for always pushing his personal bar each year when creating his drum solos for the annual drum recital. Enjoy everyone!

Music Education in the school systems is on a decline with a lack of funding and budget cuts. For me as a kid growing up not only did music help me build confidence and become a creative thinker, it also helped me become more social, set goals and achieve the goals I set, gave me direction, taught me responsibility, respect etc... I could go on for days and list how music helped me as a kid, teenager, and even as an adult... maybe in another blog. I will say that for me personally music education played a huge role in my life and it still does as a drum instructor today. The funny thing is now that I'm an adult and teach drum lessons privately I can see from the other side the incredible benefits that music lessons and music education have on students of all ages.

I would like to wish my 2017 graduating drum students congratulations on a job well done! Its a bitter sweet time for me as I say goodbye to students that I have worked with for several years, some since the beginning of middle school. With that said I'm very proud of you guys and wish you all much success! Keep Drumming guys and keep in touch:)
